It’s raining but I’m thankful

It’s raining today (hard), taxes are due (argh!) and Werner has been out of town 1 day too long (sigh).   I thought it would be good to list the things that I’m thankful for. Running water (a missions team from our church, Werner included, has been going without for 3 days) A warm, comfortable home A car that has gas in it Starbucks and the comfort of a familiar, coffee-fragranced, relaxed environment Random text messages that make me smile from friends Chatting on the phone with my kids and getting caught up Extended family who really know you and still love you People who enthusiastically lend a hand Girlfriend-time scheduled on my calendar Living in one of the...

Passive Aggressive No More

I’m on a “Let’s-stamp-out-passive-aggressiveness ” kick.    Why can’t we just say what we mean, ask for what we want and be honest when we don’t want something?   Let me be the first to say that I resort to these “avoid the tension” tactics at times.  If you know me, you know that I am verbally more direct than most although I can do the “nice girl” thing with the best of the them.  I’m well trained – I was raised in church.
