Credentials and Practices

My approach is Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)j, influenced by Systems combined with Solution Focused and Family/Marital  therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Oregon. I am required to attend a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education in counseling related areas every two years. This consists of professional seminars, workshops, conferences, college classes, and supervision/consultation.

Meetings

I meet with clients electronically. I use a telehealth service called VSee.  It is a free service that easily downloads to your computer for quality video chat capabilities.  Clients report that they are comfortable with this method of communication and prefer the flexibility of determining their own location for our meetings.  It might be at home or on a break at work or even at a coffee shop.  Couples counseling is also comfortable and sustainable with this method.  The couple shares a computer and simply sits in front of the screen as they would for a Skype chat.   VSee is specifically designed for health practitioners and carries extra security for the confidentiality of the client(s).

Session Information

Fees are determined at the beginning of the first session. My standard fee per session is $115.00 In cases of financial hardship an adjustment can be made. Sessions are 45-55 minutes in length and usually take place weekly.  Adjustments can be made to shorter sessions for check-in or follow-up. In such a case financial adjustments will be made. As a Christian, I believe strongly in Biblical values and guidelines for living. If desired by the client, I am able to integrate this directly into the counseling process. However, I do not impose my values on clients who do not seek this framework.
